Our Values and Beliefs

VICTORY IS AN “INDEPENDENT, FUNDAMENTAL, AND BAPTIST” CHURCH

INDEPENDENT—We are not affiliated with any convention or association. We disclaim such affiliations because of liberal theology, compromise, and control which so constantly accompany them. We are very dependent upon our Lord Jesus Christ and the precious Holy Spirit in doing His work. We do cooperate effectively for the common cause of world evangelization through the combined efforts of a fellowship-relationship of the local congregations.

FUNDAMENTAL—We accept and believe the Bible (Old and New Testaments) to be God's holy, inspired, written Word to mankind, and as such acknowledge the Scriptures to be our sole authority in all manners of faith and practice. We accept the King James Version of the Bible as a trustworthy, accurate, and reliable English translation. We confidently use it in all of our teaching and preaching.

BAPTIST—We believe and practice the now historical Baptistic stand concerning the scriptures, namely:

1. Salvation by grace through faith, given as a free gift from God; no works of any kind involved.

2. Believer's baptism by immersion in water.

3. That the truly born-again are eternally secure in Christ and can never be lost again.

4. That the Bible is the verbally inspired, infallible Word of God from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21.

5. The total separation of church and state.

CHURCH—We are a local fellowship of born-again, baptized believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who meet together to worship God and to carry out the commands of our Lord as given in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

Our Beliefs

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, that they are inerrant, infallible, and that they are of supreme and final authority in all matters of our faith and practice.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

We believe Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is both true God and true man.

We believe man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are therefore sinners in thoughts, words, and deeds.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe on Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the grave on the third day, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His being seated at the right hand of God the Father where He is representing us as our ever-living intercessor.

We believe salvation is by grace, through faith, and that all who trust Jesus Christ as personal Savior are Born Again and immediately indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that once you are saved, you are always saved.

We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in both the Rapture of the Saints and the Revelation of our Sovereign.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the bodily resurrection of the unjust—the just to everlasting blessedness, and the unjust to everlasting damnation.
